Women's Suffrage Movement

  • Election Day is November 7th.   Did you know there was a time when not everyone was permitted to vote?  Women started the suffrage movement in 1848 and the 19th Amendment (giving women the right to vote) wasn't ratified until 1920!
  • First, read this article about the history of the Women's Suffrage Movement.
  • Then, open the timeline on the website for the National American Woman Suffrage Association.
  • Use the timeline to help you complete the condensed timeline in Kidspiration.  It is located in the Kirby Share Drive.  After a teacher has checked your work, you may save to your H: drive and print to the LabColor printer.
  • The timeline lists several names of important leaders in the suffrage movement.  Choose one leader and use the photo to create a commemorative stamp in his/her honor in Publisher.
